Planning To Whitening Teeth

I'm trying to find a dentist nearby my home, because I wish to whitening my teeth. Although my teeth are not badly stained, they could just with lightening up a few shades to make them white. But because I'm not very know about what are the whitening procedures actually. So I need a dentist to explain to me. hmm...anyway, I am just thinking, not sure is it worth to whitening teeth or not.
